The Research
Various studies, such as the research of Professor Brenner's group of Columbia University Medical Center in New York, demonstrated the antibacterial capacity of ultraviolet UV-C rays.
The results show that low doses (2 mJ/cm) of UV-C radiation inactivate virus particles
of influenza A (H1N1) present in the air. The results obtained in in vitro experiments on human epithelial cells and on laboratory animals suggest the possibility of using this type of radiation in public places, and even in the presence of public.
The absorption of photons in this wavelength causes the death of the bacterial cell by photochemical reaction, thanks to the absorption of photons of UVC light by the DNA or RNA of the micro-organisms, preventing their reproduction and making them inactive.
Brenner and other scientists’ work show that ultraviolet light between 207-222 nm, at appropriate doses, effectively inactivates viruses and bacteria without harming us.
Several systems based on UV-C light are already used for the disinfection of environments and surfaces in hospitals and public places.
UV-C radiation can be safely used in closed systems to disinfect surfaces or objects in a closed environment where UV light doesn’t escape outside. In fact, a Plexiglas or glass container is enough to effectively shield the UV-C radiation.
The new UVSANAMBIENT Air Purifier
UVSANAMBIENT has an irradiation chamber with a high-power UV-C germicidal lamp (25 Watt) where the filtered air passes and is irradiated, to leave it purified from germs, bacteria, dust mites, allergens, mold and bad smells, at the same time ensures the safety of people in the room.
This sanitizer is a complete and efficient tool for air treatment, thanks to three mechanical filters:
- the first "high efficiency ceiling filter" efficiency class EN779: F5 retains dust and small particles present in the air;
- the second made with salts retains dust and allergens, follows the UVC irradiation chamber where bacteria and organic substances are eliminated (the cause of bad smells);
- the third ePM1 class filter in polypropylene nanofibers class of efficiency EN779: F7 is a very high efficiency filter which guarantees a high accumulation of the particulate by prolonging the UVC irradiation, ensuring in that way a better bactericidal and fungicidal effect.

The passage of over 200 Mc hour of air makes UVSANAMBIENT suitable for the sanitation of air in environments such as shops, gyms, businesses where the presence of several people can create an accumulation of pollutants, especially in winter months where closed doors don’t allow an adequate air exchange.
The low consumption, less than 70 watts, allows a prolonged use of the device.
